Geez.. 20 years. I almost remember it like it was yesterday. I had the trading cards, the posters, coloring books, the figures... HELL I WAS 13 !!! Yes, I think this was my 1st true summer blockbuster also. I dare say I can almost quote every line in the movie since I have seen it like 100 times. That is one movie that if it's on TV.. I stop channel surfing to watch it!!

20 years...wow. This movie was SO huge and it was a fun ride being swept up in "Bat-Mania". I remember that whole summer and early part of the school year, all I wore was stuff with Bat symbols on it, lol.
That was a crazy summer for movies too..."Batman", "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade", "Ghostbusters 2", and the sleeper "Honey I Shrunk The Kids". The summer movie season hasn't been the same since.

I've seen that movie soooooooooooooooo many times that it's easy to forget how good it really was especially at that time. It was a big risk. It paved the way for all of the epic superhero movies that we are seeing today. I was in high school when it came out and it actually got me back into collecting action figures again. Thanks for posting it really brings back the memories.

I was 14 when this came out, and I don't remember this movie being as big or monumental as everybody else in this thread seemingly does.
I remember seeing it, liking Jack and the score and not much else, and trying to understand how PRINCE got himself mixed up in this. FWIW, my bigger summer movie memories include Star Wars (I was 2...its the first thing I can remember, period), The Final Countdown (yes, weird!), Ghostbusters, Transformers The Movie, and Johnny Dangerously. |

I remember the line I stood in with my sister, and my cousin. It was insane.
I remember soon after seeing the film buying a Batman t-shirt at Eaton's, which was still the source for Joe toys. Wow, I miss the 80's those were some great times! Oh, forgot to add I was 13 at the time. Last edited by hayardin; 06-24-2009 at 09:33 AM.. |

Like the rest of you this really makes me wonder where all the time has gone???
I was 14 when the movie came out and this move propelled me headfirst into the realm of Superhero Comics. Up until this point in time all I ever knew was GI Joe and Transformers and I really didn't collect the Transformer comics much. But I became the quintessential Bat Freak with this movies release. I had everything Bat Man on it and I started collecting a lot of the the Bat Man comics and then a lot of other super heroes from there and lots of action figures. I bought the Danny Elfman Score on Tape as soon as I could and wore out three copies of it before finally getting a CD Player. I couldn't wait for the VHS that Christmas as my family had just purchases out first VHS Player/recorder. This movie was HUGE and I still like it the most out of all the Bat Flicks so far. I Loved Dark Knight.. but Bat-Man will always have a special place in my heart. Man.. "where does he get those wonderful toys?" - Maybe Joker should try BBTS
