Regardless of the circumstances behind his death, he was a talented artist whose music we listened to at many of my HS dances. RIP...

I vaguely remember seeing his videos on MTV and hearing his music on the radio as a kid. He made some good music over the years and I can go back in time in my mind when I hear some of his songs. It would be wrong to say he is a "guilty pleasure" as he made a lot of good songs but in my music library of mostly classic rock/hard rock/alternative his music sticks out like a sore thumb. I usually don't get to down when a celebrity dies but for some reason his death has me bummed out. He seemed like a real tortured yet giving and kind soul.
