I like to go to the early features, They tend not to be to crowded in my area. I went see Iron Man and as I walked out they were giving people a free movie ticket. Seems the AC went out. I never noticed, but my wife said it was hot as hell.

Last movie I saw in the theaters was Transformers and the next movie will be TF2. I just can not stand the people and prices that come with movie theaters nowadays. If its something I really want to see and cant wait I get the bootleg just like a few already mentioned above but normally I just wait for the BR/DVD and enjoy it at home.

I hear you, last time I went some couple kept moving, they had ants in their pants or something, kept hitting our chairs, kind of hard to concentrate on a movie when this keeps happening, that was at Star Trek, and at Watchmen, the two people in front of me kept using their phones to text. I am going to stay home, for the rest of them, and, only will I go for G.I.JOE.

Bootlegs? Don't you know you are depriving poor starving actors and actresses? How the hell is Spielberg gonna afford another beachhouse if you don't pay your share? How will Brad and Angelina adopt their fourteenth micronesian kid if you don't cough up the bucks? Because of you sir, George Clooney will only be able to take four maui vacations this summer. You are an evil evil man!
This itself is a indicitive of a BIG problem with the film industry. The lower guys get shafted on the budgetary end and the "stars" reap all of the benefits. What they don't realize is that when they complain about DVD sales and movie ticket sales being down they blame it on the bootleggers, and fire the low guys on the totem pole, that without those guys the movies don't get made. In addition if they made better movies we would go see more of them. So a big middle finger goes to Hollywood from me. They don't care about the product they are putting out, they don't want to hear unique and interesting voices saying something different. They want their massive cash machine to keep grinding out inferior sex comedies, rom-coms, poorly acted action flicks and teenage dramas. Those are cheap to make, and make a lot of money. in summation, BOOTLEG AWAY.

As for me, I'll check texts when I'm in the theatre and check my phone after it's done ringing to see who's called. If it's an emergency and say my parents or siblings were in an auto accident, I'd want to know immediately, not two hours later. Jammers would be stupid. Conflict, I am in Houston, what area you in? I never get out to any of the movie grill places as they are all in the suburbs. I am close to Reliant stadium and it's just too far of a drive to any of them, although I have been to them before and it's pretty nice being able to have a St. Arnold while watching a flick. I usually go to one of the two Edwards places and I rarely have problems with too much texting or talking in films, but at times it happens. I guess I'm just not as anal as the rest of folks around as I can usually block that stuff out after a few mins, so even in the rare cases when it happens it doesn't usually bother me. Besides, I can't hate too much, when I was younger and more immature, that was me doing that s**t, so I'll let kids be kids.

I Don't mind going to the cinema myself .but you do get the usual bunch of Ignorant twits who like to ruin movies for others. these are the people who have nothing better to do with their lives other then to annoy the people around them. And to make them look funny in-front of their buddies Who probably have the same I.Q as the shoes they are wearing. In my experiences its sometime not kids kicking the seat behind you but actual fully grown people who should know better but have child like minds
but that doesn't stop me from enjoying a movie it just ticks me off a lil but I get over it. worst thing I saw tho was a couple bring they're 3 year old to Wolverine within the first couple of open minutes the was yelling and crying at the top of her lungs .I mean seriously who brings a 3 year old to a 12's film .next time they could bring her to see Saw . may that would be good for her ! |

The movie experience just is not what it used to be.
Over priced tickets and concessions. Terrible service. No originality in Holywood. Crammed into tiny seats that are not comfortable. Stupid people that do whatever they want. It's really sad that people have no problem doing whatever they usually do at home at the movies. You have a phone? Turn it off. Everyone else should be. People seem to forget that before we had cell phones, the world was just fine. We simply have no patience, we have to "make that call now". This is especially true of the youth, who for the most part, do not listen to anything. I blame the parents for this, but that is a whole different thread, lol. When you go to the movies, it asks that you respect others, turn your phone off, etc. Of course, most people ignore this. Another issue is that the theaters have no one watching the customers inside the theater. I've had to deal with screaming kids, couples making out, people on their phones (or texting) and just being loud and obnoxious. Sad thing, is I love the movies. I miss the days when I could go into a movie and sit and watch a film in realitive silence. I like to go to midnight shows, and I still will. You just have to deal with it, because it will never get better. They will charge more money, and people will continue to pay. I go see the movies I really want, and just deal with it.

Overpriced tickets
lame music while you wait for the previews Annoying commercials you always see on your TV suddenly find themselves in the big screen. Assholes who talk all throughout the movie and text. Morons who keep kicking the back of my seat. latecomers who will show up 20 minutes after the movie has started and will walk infront of you while they spot for a seat. The disgusting smell of nacho cheese and jalapeno that the slob beside you is stuffing into his face. People who bring their kids to see an R rated movie when its way past their bed time. Get a friggin babysitter! Couples who sit in the back and you just know they're getting it on back there. Last edited by Tristin_L; 06-05-2009 at 01:49 PM.. |
