It's sad but true. The East coast of Florida has been a horrible place to find toys on the shelves the past year or so, but now it has just gotten impossible.
I've been checking out my local Wal-Marts and Targets and I can't even find a single Star Trek Figure. The Star Wars isle has not been restocked in about three months and the Joe section is just stupid. Nothing but CC's and old crappy comic packs for months. The only thing new I've even seen is the Die-Cast versions of the OLD Star Trek ships. They haven't even put out new stuff for any of the movies coming out, the last restock I saw was in January. It's like they have just given up completely on the toy departments. So if I want anything new, I guess I will be forced to buy it online.

I know bro, I'm over in Palm Beach. I've had to swear by BBTS since wave 9.

Same here. I'm in Vancouver, Canada, and it's been a mess for certain toy lines. Something like Transformers is fine, but a line like GI Joe, or DC, etc. Very hard to come by unless you're in a comic shop which charges you double the price. I'm all for supporting local comic shops, but not when they intentionally try to fleece me because they know I can't find the figures in regular retail. So fuck'em. I go online now. I'd say 99% of the toys I buy now I order from one online source or another, whether it's BBTS, Outer Rim, or other Tankers or even Ebay. (Ebay is usually a last resort, and not very often). Some of these sites have treated me really well, so I stay loyal.
Joes in particular have been bad. We've been missing whole waves up in Canada, particularly recently with the modern line. Total weaknuts. Even though I end up paying a little more, I'd rather order online cause I am pretty much guaranteed to get what I want. I figure it's a fair trade off - save time, gas and effort/stress in exchange for a dollar or two more a figure. That's fine with me. |

I've been online only for the past 3 months.
It makes me sad.

I switched to online about 6 months ago - it's just way easier, especially with being able to preorder. Saves me the time going from store to store to store.

I'm in Miami, and I gotta say, there's a whole lotta Star Trek figures around here, Not my thing though. I actually stick to online ordering mainly because I don't have time to go to the stores as often as I would like, and get discouraged when I find nothing I need. Then again I haven't been as enthusiastic about visiting depleted stores because I'm not interested in the new Rise of Cobra stuff coming out. I stick to the 82-86 25th line only.
