And this is why Hasbro has the policy not to use anyone's real name for a toy anymore. Hard to believe the use of this name wasn't a complete coincidence.
Searching whitepages, there are at least 3 Harris Faulkners out there. So why does she get to claim complete commercial control of this name just because she's on TV? Harris Faulkner | Whitepages She's the only one damaging her career and reputation by clogging up her Google hits with this nonsensical lawsuit about a toy hamster no one would've noticed had the same name as her otherwise. |

crazy.
But I get it. If Mattel made an action figure and called it George Lucas or Harrison Ford or any number of celebrity names you can bet that they would also have their legal teams all over them with cease and desist letters. The fact that it's a Fox News personality is the only reason it's been brought to national attention like it has.it's just if you feel that your name is also your brand based on celebrity status. She should have just considered it a cute coincidence and left it alone as it's not like she is a household name to most people...well... "wasn't" a house hold name. Guess it's just going to come down to if she is $5million richer when it's all done and forgotten. Last edited by USAgent; 09-03-2015 at 11:36 AM.. |

She's also upset that "Harris Faulkner is a chocking hazard."
Hahaha

In her defense the legal team is the one making the stretch of likeness and choking hazard. To my knowledge she is not known for making on air mistakes. I think she has a case for the name based on the other hamsters names. All the others are pet names. Name yes Likeness choking hazard, no. $5 million worth of damages, no way. Not sure this has damaged her in any way, but I do think hasbro will change the name and settle out of court. Best thing to do is buy that hamster, it might go up in value if name changes. Side note I have never heard of these toys. Now they are all over the news. Brilliant marking strategy by hasbro. Free marketing |

Of course, I wonder what will happen if Hasbro argues this is parody? I very much doubt they will, though.

I am pretty sure Hasbro will win this case. When two objects presented right next to each other people can make all sorts of associations. Both have hair, check. Both have eyes, check. Both are brown, check.
The name is a bit weird, I am surprised Hasbro doesn't check their shit but they don't and make all sorts of mistakes.
