Honestly my first album I ever owned was a Smurf's sing-a-long album that I played all the time.
The next album I can remember getting was Earth Wind and Fire "Faces" I think it was

Well, the first LPs I ever owned were given to me by my wicked Step-father when I was 10. They were some sort of Doors Vinyl collection, and a Cat Stephens album. I don't really remember listening to the Cat Stephens at all, but I loved the Doors from that moment on.
The first record I bought on my own was actually a cassette tape. Those were all the rage when I was a kid and LPs were even then considered old fashioned. The cassette was the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. You can laugh at my un-coolness now.

Yay!! The song where they relegated Phil Collins to playing drums only and let stoopid, untested 80s pop-singers sing instead.
