I am having trouble these days with my computer. It seems the microsoft program "drwatsn32.exe" is bugging out on me. Every few seconds I have to go to task manager and end process it, otherwise it restarts my comp.
I've looked it up and some sites says it's safe but a virus/worm takes over it and creates a mess. I need to know if I should update my virus protection or download a registry kit as some sites have suggested. The problem is, I can't be on long enough to actually search for a solution. as after about 10 minutes it crashes anyways. |

I wish I could help Bro, I was tired of buying a new PC twice a year so I switched to Mac three years ago and had no problems, but the virus problem will be hitting the Mac platform soon enough.
Computers suck. Good luck! |

Not sure if this will have any effect but have you tried restarting under safe mode and running an updated virus scan?

try doing "msconfig" and disable that program at startup. I would download adaware se to help with any spyware/adware you may have. hopefully that may give you enough time to update any virus definitions you may need.

Download and run Microsofts malicious software removal tool. It will clean out the major virus's and spyware.
Malicious Software Removal Tool After you run it update your antiirus definitions. If its a payed service that has expired switch to a free antivirus. Theres no reason to pay for antivirus support anymore. The free ones now perform as well as and in most cases better than Norton or Mcafee. Avast Free is great Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition AVG Free is good too AVG Free - Download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition for Windows XP and Vista Comodo offers a full internet security sweet similar to Norton and Mcafee for free. SSL Free Firewall Two Factor Authentication Products from Comodo Any one of those should kill the virus you have. I recommend getting Avast because after you install it it performs a boot up scan of the hardrive which can remove the viruses that protect themselves when windows starts up. Finally run a spyware remover. Spybot S&D is the best. The home of Spybot-S&D! If that doesn't fix your problem its not a virus. Defrag your hardrive. Also go to Start/ Run and type MSCONFIG. Go to the Startup tab and remove Dr Watson, Quicktime, Realplayer, Office, Adobe, Yahoo Messenger or any other Non Microsoft program tool that loads itself into memory on startup (not your antivirus though). These programs load themselves into memory so when you double click their icon to open them they load faster. Its unnecessary and robs your computer of about 20mbs of RAM. The programs will still open when you doublecick their icon. Instead of a 10 second startup of the program you might get a 15 second startup. But windows will run blazingly faster with the extra RAM you freed up. Last edited by sisco; 04-17-2009 at 01:45 PM.. |

I just ran Superadblocker and found a buttload of trojans, spywayre and adware. BUT it didn't fix the problem.
I will try the start up idea and see if it works. this shit is super annoying!! |

I swear to god, if I ever meet someone who says they create viruses for a living, I will kill them slowly with a spoon.

It's not a virus.
Description of the Dr. Watson for Windows (Drwtsn32.exe) Tool Dr. Watson for Windows is a program error debugger that gathers information about your computer when an error (or user-mode fault) occurs with a program and as such works for microsoft. Some times when you reboot this problem goes away.It can also be disabled if causing you to many problems>see below. Drwatson.exe is an older program error debugger that was included with earlier versions of Windows NT. Microsoft recommends that you use Drwtsn32.exe instead of Drwatson.exe in Windows XP.
