Misfits
Samahain Danzig Ok, just wondering if theres any fans on here and what your favirote incarnation is. For me, I am a Misfits fan through and through, one of my favirote bands of all time with the Glenn, Jerry, Doyle, Robo being my fave line up. Having said that (and I know Im gonna catch shit for this..I LOVED the Graves, Jerry, Doyle, Chud line up and both American Pyscho and Famous Monsters were great cds, not Glenn great, but great. INSANELY good live shows) I gotta say, I've been spinning Samhain Initium for about 2 weeks now and it is a very close second place to the original Misfits line up..."The Howl" , "All Murder.." "He who cannot.." "Archangel"...JUST as catchy "Die die," "Teenagers" or "Martian"...but we all know theyre "different" Danzig alone..good music, but VERY different then Misfits/Samhain and I find I like very select songs....good stuff...just not..."Walk Among Us" Lets check the polls! I love everthing Danzig has done, but Misfits are the tops for me. Those songs are classics.

Misfits. No contest. Though "Her Black Wings" is one of the great metal-ish songs from the 80s, in my opinion.

I met Danzig in Hollywood back in '96. He is sooo short. We just talked about how he went down to a movie studio to audition for Wolverine for an X-Men movie that was in development at that time. He also listed all the wrestlers he has worked out with. It was a strange conversation.

I will probably be the lone vote but I like Samhain the best. Archangel was one of my favorite songs

Misfits for me. I'm an old school punk rocker, so I'm a little biased on this one. I will say that all incarnations of Glenn Danzig's bands have been amazing. Samhain and Danzig are a totally different vibe than Misfits, but music by nature is for occasions. Therefore depending on the mood, there are certain sounds that hit the spot.
I could never get myself to rock a devil lock, but I had every Misfits cassette in my high school backpack. Their songs are soooo catchy. I'm singing '20 Eyes' "in my head" as I type! haha. good thread. nice memories. "Mommy! Can I got out and... ______ tonight?!" |

Misfits. Totally.
Although I am down with all of it. Had to pick one, and for me, Misfits are classic.

That is really intresting! I dont live too far from where he grew up and I met Jerry and Doyle on a number of occasions. I can honestly say I have never met 2 nicer, more down to earth fan friendly guys. They finally began to start pumping money out of something 30 someodd years old with those 2 records and Doyle lost his mind and Jerry turned the final "respectable" version of the Misfits into a circus. I wish them the best, I cant understand why we cant Glenn, Jerry and Doyle on stage one last damn time!!......I mean aside from the fact that Jerry and Glenn would probably beat each other to death.. |
