For those of us that like ourselves a little KISS, they are promoting a 'fan-decided' US tour. Go to kissonline.com and vote for your city!

Ace and Peter aren't doing it anymore?
Damn, glad I caught 'em a couple times with Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter. Seeing Peter Criss sing 'Beth' was worth the price of admission alone. I've seen a ton of rock shows. KISS puts on the best SHOW period, and it's not a concert so much as it's a show. It's awesome.

It's not the original, but that's still okay with me. Not ideal, but Tommy and Eric hold their own well. Ace is putting out an album sometime soon, actually very soon I think even the album title is finished.

You know, Commander... I'm just going to throw my two cents out there, and please don't take it personally...
But I hate this band. Not because of their music, which doesn't bother me... but I hate the band. After 100 "farewell" tours, they still kept shoving their washed-up fame down everyone's throat. I hate Gene Simmons most of all... especially since he married the most worn-out hag in the back alleys of Hollywood, and I hate his kids. I hate how he pays to make a show about himself. I also hate the droves of fans that worship this band as if they were some sort of music revolutionaries. They weren't. Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, Creedence Clearwater Revival... that was rock. KISS was a costumed gimmick from the start, and sold their albums based on "shock factor" alone, kinda like Marylin Manson. The music isn't terrible, it's just the people playing it. Maybe that sounds shallow and stupid, and it probably offends you... but that wasn't my point. Just spewing my own thoughts. To each his own, and I hope you catch good tickets to this thing. (If they are playing at a House of Blues, that's your best bet. A lot of times there is a "meet the band" behind the place afterward. I got to drink booze with Skid Row and Poison). |

HOSTILE,
First off, interesting handle...seems to fit you based on your post. And I'm not taking it personally, and I know that lots of people don't care for A) the never-ending farewell tours (which is why Ace wont come back) and B) Gene Simmons being full of himself. Don't understand how anyone could hate his kids, as they (seemingly) are very down-to-earth, but hell I don't live with them, so I don't know. I think KISS can be considered to be one of the firsts to make going to a show, just that, a show. It's entertainment for more than just your ears. No one (including me) is going to claim these guys are musical godsends, because they arent. But they put on a hell of an entertaining show. |
