Yeah, I usually reserve judgment until I can conclusively confirm or deny something. I am usually a little skeptical of most strange stories, but I never say that it could never be true without some sort of proof or solid explanation one way or the other. Having said that, I would probably still be skeptical if I had not seen some weird stuff personally at my grandmother's house when I was growing up. And, it wasn't even just me, it was my whole family that saw things at one time or another. I never wanted to spend the night at grandma's that's for damn sure!

The TRU nearest me is apparently haunted. Google the "Sunnyvale Toys R Us Haunted" and you'll see. QUOTE] I remember seeing an old episode of That's Incredible where they did a segment on this TRU. Incredibly Spooky!!

I watch the show. Stuff like that is really interesting. Growing up in one of my old hometowns, there was a house that was abandoned. The only problem is that sometimes late at night you could see lights and shadows passing across the windows. The news of that made it into our newspaper. Also in our cemetary, there was a vampire grave and a witches tree. The vampire grave was that of a child who was supposedly born a vampire and killed very young. The witches tree is said to have 3 witches burried underneath...

"Hell yeah, it's freaky. I won't go into the stock room by myself. And there's these talking dolls that will start up talking by themselves, but all at the same time. The whole aisle." Maybe she's making it up, but either way, it's creepy to me. Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 03-24-2009 at 03:51 PM.. |

You know, I'm not the first to jump on the weird shit bandwagon and be a "We Believe!" believer, but I don't discredit any supernatural shit.
I've heard some creepy stories by people I trust pretty well, and whether they think they saw something or it actually happened, it was creepy and believable enough that they were genuinely creeped out, and it made the hair on my neck stand up. The TRU nearest me is apparently haunted. Google the "Sunnyvale Toys R Us Haunted" and you'll see. Weird, huh? And I brought it back to toy-collecting, too. Wierd indeed, about a mile from where I work is a TRU that use to be a Hills Department store in the 80s ( where I bought most of my childhood toys ). I was told it was haunted by children but thought it was hooey. Then my wife bought me a book on local hauntings and it was in there. The building was built on old farm land and was the sight of a pond, it was documented that 2 small children drowned in the pond and the land was haunted. While the Hills was being built the workers refused to do night shift due to hearing children play. After the store was running a lot of employees said the same thing. Now the building has been redone with a TRU and a Books a Million. The TRU is on the side where the toy department was for Hills. |

Yeah, I've been in there, and although they've remodeled it, and I haven't seen anything first-hand, I candidly asked one of the coworkers about it, and she was like,
"Hell yeah, it's freaky. I won't go into the stock room by myself. And there's these talking dolls that will start up talking by themselves, but all at the same time. The whole aisle." Maybe she's making it up, but either way, it's creepy to me.

The funny thing is after we moved out of that house we started talking about it again and then they started telling me all the weird crap that happened to them while we lived there as well. That's when we figured out how weird it was, after we moved out. My grand parents lived in the house after we moved to FL for a couple of years, until my grand pa passed away there. But my grand ma who is sensitive to that sort of thing was so freaked out by it that she started boarding up the windows. She said she had a lamp sitting on a table in the bedroom and they heard a crash. When they investigated it looked as though the lamp had been raised to the ceiling in the middle of the room and dropped. It was everywhere. But unless its really attacking you I think the common thing to do is just adjust as best you can and deal with it because you don't want people to think you are crazy.

I don't care the explanation, if it's real or not, it is still creepy as shit. Talking dolls are creepy anyways. Especially a whole aisle of them, talking all at once. |

Reading about ghosts gives me the creeps, always has. Probably about ten years ago I woke up and swore there was a person sitting on the end of my couch by my feet just looking straight forward. All I can remember was not wanting to move and closing my eyes. Anyway the next day I decided I must have been dreaming and dismissed it and didn't tell anyone.
Come to find out though, the night before that or after I can't remember, my brother whose bedroom was in the basement, directly below mine, saw something. He woke up in the middle of the night and saw someone standing next to his stereo. He grabbed his baseball bat and flips on the lights, nothing there. He's not into paranormal shit at all, plus he's always been the first to laugh when I bring up anything even slightly weird. So I don't know, either one of those by themselves I probably wouldn't think much of it, but both happening so close together makes me think something was going on. |
