Same here. I got laid off on Wednesday (hooray) and despite surviving wave after wave of layoffs, I finally was part of the casualties.
I had an interview on Friday and another one this Friday though, which I barely had time to prepare my portfolio for since I had roughly a day's turnaround, but I have 4 more weeks of severence, and some money in savings, but I hope to not have to go on unemployment or dip into savings. If things work out, I'll have a short vacation and be into a new job by the time my severance pay runs out, but I'm crossing my fingers. Things MAY not work out quite like that, but I'm trying to be optimistic. Good luck on the job hunts fellas. I saw it coming for months, and it's partly a relief, since I feel like I don't have to dread it coming (it feels sickening to dread payday, instead of looking forward to it... end of pay periods is when they've been laying off folks... We lost 21 this time around, myself included). |

What's up with people wanting to gossip about someone else at work who lost their job? A woman I work with called me yesterday wanting to talk about a co-worker that lost his job. The guys got kids, I refused to talk about it.
