The Metairie Wal-Mart or LaPlace one? I check the LaPlace one every now and then.

the one I'm directly thinking of is the one in Covington right before the causeway. though honestly, everywhere I hit up in NOLA and Northshore were scores (mainly Star Wars but some Joe stuff as well). that could have changed since I haven't been back since the last of the family moved out.

5-10min depending on traffic. I live pretty close to my school, walked back once in the pouring rain and it took me about 35min.

I've got it pretty well. My commute is 20-30 minutes one way, mostly highway, rarely filled with traffic. I live right off the highway (It takes about 2-4 minutes to get on the highway from my front door and that's including a red light)
Along the way to work I pass a small town with a Target, Wal-Mart and Kohls right next to each other and my job is a block away from two thrift stores (So I get a good amount of hunting done on my way to and from work) Also I work odd hours (2P-10P, 1p-9p, etc...) so I don't have to deal with rush hour too often. |

If I don't take the kids and can catch the bus outside my house then Metro at the pentagon. 40 minutes. If I got to drive in with the kids (HOV thank goodness), drop them off, walk to the Metro an hour. Since I don't have to help with the pick up its about 40 minutes home. I live about 8 miles from my office. But that's DC. If I lived any further out it would 1 and a half during rush hours for 22 miles. I'm sort of lucky.

3 to 5 minutes to get to work and home. Small towns rock sometimes
