I was thinking about getting these. But I'm pretty sure I still have the originals in storage. Besides, I'm loving the Neca Turtles right now.

If I were to pick up these re-released Turtles from the 80's I'm not sure if I would open them or not. The only reason that I would want them is because they are similar to the second versions of these figures because they all have the hard solid plastic heads. The first run of the originals had those soft rubber heads before they switched over to the hard solid plastic heads. My original Turtles have the soft rubber heads from the first year of release. By the way check it out. This post just doubled yours. At the time of this post I had 746 overall posts and you had 373. Damn I have way too much time on my hands while I'm bored at work.

I know how you love your NECA Turtles, but I'm curious to see if Playmates ever releases their versions of the comic book Turtles for the 25th Anniversary in addition to their re-releases from the 80's. The pics that were shown a few weeks ago looked great but there has been no information since then. All they said was that they were planning on releasing a set all in red like the Neca versions and then a second set in their 4 separate cartoon colors. I would love those. As for now I'm just loving the TMNT movie version figures I pick up on Ebay. If I ever decide to get the ones from NECA I might go with the black & white set because it looks interesting to me.

But as for Playmate's TMNT, I'd like to see the "movie star" Turtles rereleased. Those were awesome! And I still wish they would've made a giant Super Shredder from Turtles 2. |

uh....this is news to me.
i saw some cool re-sculpts from this year's toy fair. but the whole "classic turtles carded with a DVD" is total news to me. personally, i'll pass. the NECA turtles are much nicer in design. i own a pretty substantial collection of TMNT classic figures, and carded figures of ones i already have carded and multiples of loose do not interest me.
