Saw this on my news feed when I got home today. Thrash metal was one of the things I got into after G.I.Joe. Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, and Metallica meant as much to my teenage years as Joe meant to my childhood. Jeff Hannamen and Kerry King had a special connection. Jeff, you'll be missed.

My earthly heroes fall one by one. I hope he's jamming in heaven with Ronnie James Dio, Cliff Burton, and Clive Burr.

I don't think he'd like heaven, man. Unless he could make it rain... Blood! From a lacerated sky! I only ever saw them once at the big four. Amazing. And Kerry King is a local here, so a lot of people are taking it hard. But blessed be those who shine past life.

So I heard on Sirius/XM that he got bit by a spider and never fully recovered?
How fucked up is that? |

actually, it was liver failure. the drugs they used to treat his necrotizing fasciitis are extremely hard on the liver and coupled with 30+ years of excessive drinking was too much...

Yeah, they released his official cause of death and it was liver failure.
Spider bites still suck though, I watched a Nova documentary on venom and other toxins secreted by animals and it freaked me out. |
