Haha. Yeah, our small town of Indiana went crazy when the movie Hoosiers got filmed there, remembering that being a big deal in the 80's.. because nothing ever came to Indiana.

My town and the diner up the street from my house is in the movie Jersey Girl. I remember when the movie came to the town to film it and everyone was trying to see Ben Aflect and Jennifer Lopez. Since I had no interest to see them I stayed inside all day. I left the house once that day and quickly retreated back inside shortly after I saw how many people were out there.

The town I grew up in, Tallahassee, FL had a few. the only one I remember I think was called "Something Wild". Where I live now, Greensboro, NC has had a few in the area. There was one a few years ago "Home of the Giants" I think (It starred Haley Joel Osmand) That one had a scene filmed in the house I was living in. I still have to see the movie to see the scene though

The beginning of "A Family Thing" staring Robert Duval and James Earl Jones was filmed in Covington, TN where I'm originally from.
"The Firm" staring Tom Cruise, "The Client" staring Susan Serandon and Tommy Lee Jones, "Hustle & Flow" staring Terrence Howard, & parts of "Cast Away" staring Tom Hanks & parts of "The Rainmaker" staring Matt Damon were filmed in Memphis. "Walk The Line" staring Joaquin Phoenix was filmed in and around Memphis. The parts where he's supposed to be in the Air Force in Germany were shot where I work. "The People Vs. Larry Flint" staring Woody Harrelson and "Black Snake Moan" staring Sam Jackson were shot around Memphis. EDIT: Echo beat me while I was typing!

I'm from Madison, WI and there have been some movies filmed there.
Back To School (Rodney Dangerfield) I Love Trouble (Julia Roberts/Nick Nolte) The Last Kiss (Zach Braff) For Keeps (Molly Ringwald) The Big One (Michael Moore) There are more in Milwaukee, but those are the ones I know of. I live in Tucson now, and at Old Tucson studios, hundreds of films have been shot including Young Guns 1/2 and several John Wayne films. Also Can't Buy Me Love was shot in the city. |
