As you know, eBay's Feedback system is a big part of what makes eBay fun and rewarding for buyers and sellers. We're writing to let you know about some exciting new features coming during the week of April 30--features designed to make Feedback more valuable for buyers and a stronger showcase for your great service record.

Detailed Seller Ratings help you stand out.

In addition to the current positive, negative, or neutral comment, buyers will now be able to rank, on a scale of 1-5, four key aspects of a transaction: accuracy of item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges.

After a seller receives 10 of these rankings, the average scores will appear as a series of stars under a new section on the Feedback Profile page titled "Detailed Seller Ratings."

This new feature will provide more transparency to boost shopper confidence--and help your good reputation stand out at a glance.

Also, the item title and price will appear next to each Feedback comment. This will add helpful information for shoppers and encouragement to those in the market for what you sell.

Great, the buyers get another tool to black mail us with. Ebay needs to let sellers give negative feedback to buyers otherwise this means nothing.

Honestly, I never understood why feedback for buyers was apparently dissolved, as they're 50% of the puzzle to any transaction, especially in regards to the communication & experience aspects.

This is a 4 year old post and is already being used, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, really. This system has been in place for YEARS now, and it sucks balls. Not allowing sellers to leave feedback is the most screwed up thing ebay has done in the 14 years Ive been buying and selling on there.

I remember when there werent photos! It was just a description and people were actually honest. Used to be everyone knew it was kinda a big "lawn sale" and as long as the description was good, there were no problems.

I got hosed once back in the day and thats it (from 1998 until 2008/9). Over the past 3 or so years Ive been hosed at least a dozen times. The buyers have FAR too much power...and they know it.

I no longer sell on ebay and I had a 100% rating with a good 1000 transactions. The fees were getting ridiculous, and buyers started trying to blackmail on petty crap unless you bent over backwards. Ridiculous.

You can also easily lose power seller ranking if you don't average somewhere above 4.0 on all categories..like 4.2 or something. Anyone can arbitrarily give a 3 or 4 just because they didn't look at description or terms close enough.
