taking the family on Tuesday for a disneyland/Seaworld trip. My wife wants to do some shopping in SD and coming from the land Hasbro forgot, I'm stoked! Can any tankers from San Diego give me an idea where to go hunting for joes and BBI/ Forces of Valor, as well as a good place my wife can go shopping?

juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding. Theres no real cool place to check out in particular. SD is heavily scalped so i advise if you wanna search, go early in the mornings. as for your wife, it depends. Centrally located in SD and one of the better places to shop is Fashion Valley Mall. They've got pretty much everything there. Its the nicer of all the malls in my opinion. Where you staying at?

thanks for the tips. we are staying at the Pacific Terrace on Diamond St. More interested in finding some BBI/FOV/ 21stCentury stuff. Those things are wicked expensive to ship up here, bringing an empty suitcase just for the loot!

just to let you know, Sea World is located in San Diego and Disneyland in Anaheim which is aprox 1 1/2 hrs away. The only places you most likely find bbi or joes is at Wal-marts and Targets which is scattered throughout the area. Hope that helps you out, but honestly you won't find much since cali is like a breeding ground for collectors and scalpers.

Thanks guys ,yeah 5 days in Disneyland (anaheim) then amtraking it for 5 in Sd (seaworld/zoo/legoland)
2 little girls means no shopping excursions in anaheim.... thats all Mickey time. So SD is my best bet. Pretty current on joes so hoping to find the 1:18 scale vehicles to go with my apache, blackhawk, bradley and Lav. Hows about some decent comic shops in the area? |

Horton Plaza would be a nice place for the wife to shop. it's a four story outdoor mall in downtown San Diego, its a novelty but the Sam Goody there is large and sometimes you can find exclusives there. There is a toys r us off of hwy 54 and highland (I believe) that usually has a large supply of 21st century/bbi stuff. The TRU in MIssion Valley usually doen't stock much of it.
