Sprfd did, but they bulldozed it to make our fifth super walmart and now it's always busy.

Hmmmm, that does kinda ring a bell. I had forgotten about that one. Where was it located in relation to other stores?
Oh, and I also forgot the "Weeks" restaurant that used to be in there. My parents used to take me there to get strawberry sundaes! Ah...the good ol' days.

Hey, what is the comic shop right in town? I was at BAM the other day and I don't really do Bangor much and a clerk was trying to explain it but I had no clue. Is it any good? Big? Good selection? I was looking for the current Walking Dead, BAM doesn't carry it. |

They're right in downtown Bangor. It's difficult to explain where, even with street names, but it's right in the heart of downtown. They're probably about 50/100 feet from the MAIN intersection where all the streets come together. Just park the car and take a walk around. You'll find it. In the Nashville and surrounding areas, we used to have I think 8 total. Now its down to 3, maybe 4. Usually crime and low income population moving to that part of town killed the malls off.

Going to KayBee and Electrogames Plus at the Mall in the late 80's/early 90's was the best. I also miss Software Etc. and other small PC stores like Radio Shack (which was awesome back then, lol)... browsing the PC Games section in those stores was the best. There was like no internet and few magazines, so the only way you learned about a new game was the first time you saw it on the shelf.
But almost every mall I went to as a kid either got upgraded or torn down and built over... so it doesn't have that dead feeling. Malls in the 80's really were the best though, seeing them in 80's/early 90's movies is so nostalgic. I don't think kids nowadays hang out at malls anymore... they have cell phones, and internet and social media to feel connected to their own age group now. LOL. Orange Julius. I remember every Mall having an Orange Julius and not understanding why... I thought there pulpy Orange Juice was nasty. LOL. Last edited by MeLikeJinx; 02-22-2013 at 04:43 AM.. |

All the good stores like KB's are gone and now every Mall around here has Outlet style shops.

Sure do.
There's a few good stores in there, and a Books a Million was put in there a year ago. So, I am in there every once in a blue moon. But, by and far, it's nothing compared to what it used to be. I remember the theater, the arcade, KB toys and few other good stores that were there and are no more. You're getting older. And you're seeing things change from one generation to the next. It's sad, but every generation see this.
