I knew that was a Romanian WASR when I saw it. Ive been looking at them for a while actually. I didn't realize there was a place in Holden that sold them though. I have a buddy in Madawamkeag who owns a gun shop and I buy through him mostly (cause I get such a good deal). Yeah, its a little high, but not outrageous. Especially considering at the crap that's going on. Ive been looking at AR's for a few years. Ive been looking at the Bushmasters and seen them on sale for $800ish at times, but passed. Now Im kicking myself!

Everything's pricey right now, but just like the Joe secondary market, if you want it, and have the money to pay for it, and you're willing to pay it, then you can't say you overpaid.
The gun market is on a roller coaster right now (best way to put it without getting political) and I don't see the coaster coming to a stop. Congrats on the WASR purchase. Here's mine: WASRs get a lot of crap (especially century builds) but between the Tapco Galil forend and the folding stock I've got this one set up to run great for my needs. Maybe I'll build another if prices level out. |

Also, same as you, I didn't go out and get one in the fall like I planned to. So now I had to pay waaaaay more. Oh well. Quote:
That's cool, RB. I like the look of that. I've thought about a more tactical stock, but I just like the look of that wood! I've heard that same sentiment in a lot of the YouTube reviews, etc. I've watched. But, a lot of people stick up for the newer models. It seems like it was the old ones that gave them the bad rap. I love mine! Last edited by Cobra Terrorist; 02-08-2013 at 06:07 PM.. |

I love mine! Century was the same with their CETME imports. The first few runs had been hammered into jam-o-matics, but in the last couple years I haven't heard anywhere near as much negativity, just old gun snobs that refuse to give them a second look. |
