The biggest problem in my mind is the money issue. As many in this thread has been saying TRU did a great jod in restocking up to a point in time.I think it was 2000 when things started to crater after the Episode one scourge. As for GI Joe there wasn't much going on with GI Joe in 2000 as for as I know it was 2001 when we started seeing the reissues of the Dragonfly(Locust),wave Cruser,Man of War,The HISS III and so on.Anymore its all about the money. The thing that buggs the the most is they GI Joe section is a joke anymore.they have 6 rows of pegs that are 2 per column and they only get in one case at a time.I was at TRU and all they had were the new Fire Fly,2Resolute Dukes and that it.

I just quit Toys R Us this past July and let me tell you, they don't know what is going on! Your not allowed to order anything that you are out of, you just have to wait until the REGIONAL warehouse (which covers several states) decides to send you what they feel you need. Talk about toally backwards!!
Not to mention that who-or-whatever is in charge of the action figures, ALWAYS manages to misorder stuff at every single turn! We got so much Speed Racer stuff in that you could drown in it, but we were scrapping bottom of the barrel to get our hands on any Joes. We were also cluttered with stuff from the Incredible Hulk movie, even thou all the kids asked for Iron Man. The Star Wars aisle slowly but surely got backlogged with Clone Trooper after Clone Trooper, until thats all we had. To be fair, thats probably more hasblo's fault. We had parents BEGGING us for Transformers during Christmas 2007, but we had nothing. I couldn't take it anymore, so I quit. The only parts of the R Us company making any money is the Babies R Us stores and toysrus.com site (which maintains its own, seperate warehouse). TRU is becoming a toy ghetto...

i used to fel the same thing going to lionel kiddie city by the airport in philly, we went ther once or twice a year and they always had full shelves, thay went out of busines, tru will follow suit within 10 yrs, i used to work for an independent grocery store that went out of busines shortly after super walmarts and targets with grocery areas moved in, it's simple--the pie is the same size, your piece is just getting smaller

as a child i never got many toys from tru, i got the bulk of my toys from a store named caldors or a random chinese store where action figures we're always priced 4 or 5 times to high but they always had the hard to find figures, once i remember paying 8 or 9 buck for v2 cyclops x-men figure, and that was in like 92 or 93.

We used to have a store around here when i was a kid called Children's Palace. They had entire isles devoted to Joes and TFs. The good ol days.

these chinese stores mostly sold crap like weave and all kinds of cheap hats and scarfs and bandanas and umbrellas and knock off tommy hil-figer,lol just a bunch of cheap made in china goods, for some weird reason they also sold the hottest action figures and video games.

It should also be pointed out that when we were kids(80's) there were no hordes of toy collectors like there are now a days.
