i have to agree with Troynos here. The intention of return policies is to allow customers who have legitimate reasons to be unhappy with a purchase to rectify the situation (and, ultimately, gain confidence in returning to the store).
i am no position to tell people what to do... but i find it troubling that so many people seem to just buy a bunch of stuff that they don't necessarily want in order to return it a later date in exchange for more money or something they do want. if you don't want it, don't buy it in the first place, and let someone who does want it purchase it. and if you did want it at the time, and now don't have enough money to get something else you want, that is not Target or Wal-Mart's problem, and it is not their responsibility to have regulations in place that allow all customers to get everything they want all the time. you can't afford it? tough beans. That website is a joke, those people either dont have a receipt or have a expired receipt, Target is fully in the clear on those examples. This is the reason I keep every receipt. I do buy alot of items for resell and will take items back after 15-45 days. I do this all the time over various targets around town, as long as the item is still brand new and as long as you have a reciept and its within the 90 day period, they will take it back.

I'm sorry but I think giving someone a gift along with a reciept is tacky. It's like you are saying "I put no thought into your gift, I know you will return it and I should have just sent cash instead."

So basically, you bought some stuff you want and kept it MOC because that's the kind of collector you are. Now, something comes along that you want and because you're short on cash, you're going to return some items to get the cash so you can buy the other item?
And you're complaining about the store return policy? It's because of stuff like that, that's why store's have strict return policies. All that stuff about people buying the $4.99 Joes and then returning other unwanted Joes when the price went back up. That's another reason for the return policies. I have no sympathy for people trying to take advantage of the system, and that's what you're trying to do. You bought 2 items that you wanted. It's not the store's fault that something else came along and you have no money. They weren't gifts that you didn't want and are now returning. They're items that you bought in good faith because you wanted them. Good thing you kept 'em unopened so you could have the option of taking advantage of the store's return policy. I hope you do return 'em and they're on clearance and you don't get the full price back for 'em. I love targets return policy, 90 days to return something (sometimes they make exceptions) lol I have bought tons of stuff and then saw it cheaper 3 Mos later... I save all my receipts... best thing is u can buy the items in store and then go home and keep a watch for it on line. if u find it 20$ cheaper or w/e order it and take it back to target FTW! |

Why is this even an issue? Last time I checked, both of those planes have a sticker on them that says only at Target. End of story. Did they go on clearance? I have not seen or heard, but I have not looked either.

I can't think of a more legitimate reason to return something than not wanting it. why he doesn't want it is irrelevant.
