I was a huge fan of this franchise, pirates of darkwater that is. Only having 8 figures 2 vehicles,a season and a half and a hand full of comicbooks it was great imo. On the other hand I really don't care for pirates of the carribean franchise, but with its sucess I believe it destroys any chance of a pirates of darkwater movie or comeback. Which do you like more and why?

Why would Carribean destroy any chance of a Darkwater movie/comeback?
They are two different franchises with barely any common elements (I say barely because they share the "Pirates of" in the name, but I wouldn't even say they're the same kind of pirates). I was a huge fan of Darkwater and wouldn't mind seeing it make a comeback. But to think Pirates of the Carribbean would have any bearing on it is a HUGE stretch. Edit: I liked both. Carribbean created a pretty cool mythos. And Darkwater was very cool concept.

I love the POTC series of movies, and I also do not think that it would have any bearing on the PODW's return.
I love PODW as well....I just wish they would release the DVD with the final episodes that never aired so that we can finish the story damn it! As far as the figures go - POTC destroys PODW just because they are new and more detailed, but PODW figs are still cool for a vintage animated line for sure!

I feel that way because some less knowledgeble fans would just label pirates of darkwater as a knock-off or a poor-mans version of pirates of the carribean. Also I feel that due to the fact that darkwater had\has more of a cult following and not the huge following of pirates of the carribean, that toy and movie companies would be reluctant to invest in such a franchise. now if some independent publication was to pick up the darkwater franchise and start a new comicbook, then maybe that could revitalize the darkwater brand and then in the future maybe we can get a major comeback.

I find it funny Disney hasnt created an animated cartoon of Pirates of the Carribean. I would have figured an animated cartoon on their channel would have pushed they toy line a good way.

Sharke: The Pirates of Dark Water - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And yeah, I'm really surprised there isn't an animated Carribbean. They could easily expand on the mythos, it's very cool to begin with. There have been "animated" stylings of the characters done for notebook covers and that kind of thing, would be pretty simple to make a cartoon out of it.

I know the good guys ship is named the wraith but do anyone know what the 2nd vehicle was in the darkwater toyline? I had ren, ioz, bloth, mantis, conk, the wraith and nidler. I don't believe they made a tula figure but she was on the card art of the wraith, that pissed me off.

I think that they were on their way to do so but since the animated toy line failed so miserably at retail (I only ever saw them at target), the cartoon never came to light.
