You got that right! And in my opinion, the SNES is still the greatest/most important gaming system ever.

You're kidding right? LOL
N intendo E ntertainment S ystem Now, to be on topic: I remember back in the days of the NES, the shopping mall had a display of TV screens for people to play the NES games. A funny thing I remember was that there were these 2 snotty kids, one of them proclaiming to be the self professed "Video Game Master" while playing Contra with the 30 man cheat code." I remember when it was my turn to play I said "Hey, watch how I play this game." The snotty kid was like, "You can't beat Contra without the 30 man cheat." For the duration of 20 minutes into the game, I managed to get to the last stage and finished it with lives to spare. (You know those bonuses when you rack up a certain number of points, you get extra lives?) Man, I felt great playing the game and finishing it without losing. The kid himself felt embarrased. I bet you guys would've done the same thing if you were playing way back then and showed who's boss on playing NES games. Man, those we're the days. Mirage, holy crap that is badass. I suck at Contra, but I pwn at Duck Hunt. I used to try different things to spice it up a bit, since I got tired of aceing almost all of my rounds.
I would do obvious stuff like not use the iron sights, hold the Zapper sideways, etc, but my favourite involved plugging in 2 Zappers (even though the game only uses the Port 1 Zapper) and get up, move around, and drop ducks. "John Woo's 'Dove Hunt,'" I call it.

The NES...many happily wasted years of youth, lol. C'mon how can you be a Gen X'er or older Gen Y'er and NOT love the NES. It was old school gaming at it's finest. It's funny, I have a lot of weird favorites because my mom wasn't about to buy a game for 40 bucks and it not be my birthday or Christmas, so I'd get a lot of those oddball 15 dollar games .
Some of my favorites were: Amagon, Flying Dragon, Heavy Barrel, TMNT 3, Batman, Battletoads...geez the list could go on and on. I really loved that time for gaming. The graphics weren't (by todays standards) the best, but the games were easy to pick up and have fun with. And I must say the NES controller was durable, I STILL have the controllers from my very first system and they work, that says a lot considering all the fits of blind geek rage I flew into after getting my ass handed to me by a cheap Boss, lol! The SNES...even though the NES is a sentimental favorite, the SNES is hands down is the best. from the moment I first saw Street Fighter at that kiosk in Target back in '91, I knew gaming was going to change. GI Joe on the NES was also a favorite, it's just too bad they didn't pull from a roster of "Dream Team" characters...Capt. Grid Iron? GTFOH!
