Wow... that is so cool. Aren't those props though? I didn't realize they could be loud too.
The Blue Angels are here this weekend... they will probably be buzzing over my area while they are practicing for their show. I will probably be on the roof watching them do their thing as I usually do. LOL. |

I get lots of C-5 and C-17 traffic, in addition to the typical Army rotary wing stuff (47s, 60s and 64s.) Occasionally we get a pair of F-16s doing passes.
Really gonna miss the pop of the UH-1s, though. |

Yeah, we had a couple flying around here this summer. Very cool! We have a refueling division of the ANG in Bangor, so there's always something flying around here. Ospreys, KC-135s, C5 Galaxies, foreign jets, helicopters, etc. etc.. I live right in the path of the runway, so all that shit flies RIGHT over my place.
It was pretty cool seeing that Osprey fly past. Very distinctive, no doubt. When I saw this particular one fly by, you could see the props starting to go vertical. Last edited by Cobra Terrorist; 09-29-2012 at 06:03 PM.. |

A friend of mine is in the marines, his wife was too and she worked on those as her MOS. They're awesome fun to watch take off and fly.

I live on a Navy Base down here in Corpus and we have all kinds of aircraft manned and un manned flying around. Predators, Ospreys, Navy prop trainers and jets. P-3's (customs guys) the beloved Coast Guard MH-65D Dolphin Helicopter I work on and fly in. Other Coast Guard Aircraft and ocassional B52's doing pattern beaters over the base. Now those will shake your house!
And the pelicans down here are big as Volkswagens Bugs! |

here at Ft Rucker, we get a variety of things coming in.
but i'll never forget as a kid, being allowed to watch an Apache rev up and take off... until something else drowned it out completely. that's when i fell in love with these things: I have been hoping to catch the Osprey at an air show around here, but haven't had much luck.
