So I am looking into getting back into BMX riding after many many years of being a lazy ass. I did a thread check and did not see one on the topic so I want to bring it up. I am doing homework on what to get to suit my riding and will need 2 bikes as I like street/downtown and I live in the country with lots of dirt. Last bike I owned was a diamondback over 22 years ago and last bike I rode was in ? it was my friends S&M call girl. I could not find that model being made so I will shop around.
Who still rides and what you riding? |

Oh man...my lazy, fat ass hasn't been into BMX since 1987!
But, I did buy a Gary Fisher BMX with pegs on the back in 2002 or so. I've only ridden it 2-3 times around here, I think - lol. It's in the shed now. I'd like to break it out and cruise around the neighborhood, but there's just something kinda LAME about a 37-year-old pudgy guy trying to doing stunts around the streets of Brewer, Maine! |

I have been wanting to get back into it. Had a GT performer and a Blue Max.

I wish I hadn't sold my BMX. I had a Powerlite XL back in the day.

I just got back into this myself.....well sort of. My son just learned to ride a bike so we bought him a new BMX Mongoose. I wanted to ride with him so I went out and got a used SE Quadangle.
I raced BMX when I was a kid and road a SE Hauler. That bike was a lot of money back in the day (1985 I think) and a used one even goes for a lot today. Unfortunately I don't have that bike anymore. God I loved that bike. I couldn't find or afford an SE Hauler so I thought the SE Quadangle would be the next best thing. I like it but not as much as the Hauler. Anyways.... I am 38 years old with a bad back and riding sure isn’t what it used to be. My days of doing table top jumps are long over. LOL I recommend looking on Craigs List for a used bike. That’s where I found mine and they seem to always have a lot of BMX bikes on there. |

My back is screwed so no major killing it, I just want something to cruise during lunch, 37 years old and most of those spent ruining myself with a skateboard has left me decrepet and slow.
I am looking at a FBM bellwitch frame to start with. |

the last time i was on a bmx bike was when i was 24.me and my freinds would go out all even till 9 or 10 pm after work/school.but they got jobs, moved, married infighting.those days were great,i only weighed 160 then, now 195.
pk ripper aluminum frame/switched to a gt interceptor? profile 3 piece crank gt buzzsaw sprocket answer stubbie stem and bars proforks shocks odessy t-1000 rims with flames and redline hubs mongoose kevlar seat alloy seat post and pedals. sold it when i was about 23 or 24,thats when the "gang" went to hell.a few years later i bought a dk general lee and slapped a profile chromolly crank in it and iron cross pedals.rode it very little, get older, get more paranoid.lol.then got rid of it.

im into flatland, but i havent done much in a few years (read 5-7, since before kids). i bought a fishbone bigass fatland bike about 15 years ago and got back into riding for a while. it was great to get baked and go hit a parking lot for a coupple hours in the middle of the night. family life has all but ended that. still have the bike but its in need of a serious tune up.
back in the day i used to ride a hutch windstyler with about 75% custom parts and a kuwahara (dont remember the model ) and that thing was about 50% custom... |

I used to be a SERIOUS rider. Park & flatland. I grew up riding the streets around Augusta and then Portland. We had an 8' tall, 12' wide quarter pipe when I was 12. Rode a lot of streets and parks, then around 21 I became friends with a guy at college who was a semi-pro flatland rider. Got into that big time. Havent been on my bike much in the past 5 years, but I did give it a tune up last winter thinking this past spring/summer Id ride with my 4 year old who got a bike for easter last year. Yeah....no. He has NO interest in riding his bike. So, maybe next summer. I used to be big in Mt. Biking too, but sold my MTB to fund my flatland bike. The wife and I talk about getting MTB's ever winter. Itll happen one of these days. |
