The article tries not to make it ominous, but we're all thinking it...
Stan Lee cancels upcoming appearances - Comics News - Digital Spy Let's hope Stan the Man's okay. He and I share the same birthday!

Maybe it's just too hard at this age and he's perfectly ok.

The article said he had to cancel due to "a very serious circumstance". That doesnt exactly sound like everything is perfectly OK.

Didn't he just recently have a pacemaker installed? I thought I read that somewhere.

EDIT: I see the original article is a week or so old. So yeah, this was in regards to his pacemaker surgery, which is reported to have gone quite well. Stan is quoted as having said afterwards that "He had the surgery so he could live another 90 years!" I saw him at Baltimore Comic Con just a few weeks ago and he was about as spry and healthy-seeming as a 90 year old can be. I seriously think all the stuff he does is what keeps him "young." Stan Lee isn't allowed to die until I secure his autograph.

I'm just glad he is still around to enjoy the success of all his creations.
I think I read somewhere that he settled with Marvel or something and signed away the rights to his characters for 12 million a decade ago. Not bad considering I think most of the older comic writers don't get squat for their creations. |
