i did see a stealth some years back showing off a bit at niagra falls on my way back from canada.
also recall a day at camp standing outside the trailer and seen a blur overhead, then heard it a second later, not supersonic but close.looked like a harrier. i'd love to see one of those though. oh my cousin was stationed on that aircaft carrier when they was filming transformers.

Definition of Terror:
about a half dozen CH-47s flying over your house and you suddenly realize that your most unstable collection of action figures (that took you over 2 hours to position) are on a thin, cheap set of metal utility shelves...and you can hear those shelves rattling/buzzing from the vibration. "wait for it..." there. 4 figures just fell off the shelf. we were late getting to an airshow, but we saw the B-2 fly over the intersate towards the airfield. O.M.G. that is a big effin' bird. was expecting an alien invasion. it's that scary looking, too.

Good close ups! We get more than our share of military air traffic over DTLA. Various units use Dodger Stadium as a staging area. Between them and commercial low fly bys, we gwt a lot of chopper noise.

These fly over my area, too. They definitely make a rumble. I finally got to see one up close and from the inside last year at the Blue Angels Homecoming show.
