Yeah, I don't think he's trolling - he's right. Wolverine and Deadpool are cool characters that are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overused. |

Way overused? Very true. Someone doesn't like Wolverine or Deadpool? So what, different strokes for different folks.
More Wolverine and Deadpool for me! |

You have my apologies. I was under the impression you simply stated 2 of the most popular (if not overrated as has been stated here, but I do not necessarily agree with) characters in recent history just to get everyone riled up. It looks like my reply did that. Apologies to all.
As for bringing another X-Men character up to the plate, if you are meaning an existing one, I'd love to see Colossus get more attention and a better rap as a fighter. He was always getting punked by Juggernaut and I hated that. CAVEAT: I have not read much from 2K to now, so if Colossus is getting his due, skip that last comment/request. |

I despise ANY character or team that has 5 to 15 monthly titles devoted to them. Do you know how many Batman or X-Men related titles come out each month?!
Convoluted continuities, constant time travel and weak writing abound! But do the readers care? Nope!

There are a few I just have never seen the appeal of...actually that not exactly right.
I never seen the reason for the overuse appeal of certain characters I mean come on really was there really a need for 4 Punisher titles? I mean he's a cool character but I think even two monthly books would have covered it, considering the main cast is usually....one guy. Same with Spiderman and Deadpool etc... all cool characters but come on guys. Wolverine was another overused character...I mean again come on this guy has his own book and when I was reading in the 90's was in both X-Men books and pretty much guest starring in like 20 or so books each month...I mean serious way too much. But as for characters I just flat out dislike... Thor I hated until the film but he just kind of annoys me. Hercules seems like a poor mans Thor. I was never a big fan of Ghost Rider. But I guess the characters I hated most would be the second volume of X-Force the ones that were media superstars...I really hated that idea and those characters alot. |

Convoluted continuities are a natural by product of having long-running titles. They're also not even remotely the "barrier to new readers" that people make them out to be. Continuities weren't all that much less convoluted in the early 80's (particularly in the X-Men books) but that didn't stop many of us from becoming comic readers. Even if we didn't have the slightest clue who this "Jean Grey" person everyone in the X-Men books kept bringing up was, why the "Phoenix" was a big deal, or what this future that Rachel Summers came from was that was apparently such a big deal. At least not until X-Men Classics started coming out.... Yet somehow we still kept reading and eventually figured it all out. Kids these days are perfectly capable of doing the same...they just don't care to. Besides, what do you propose as an alternative to convoluted continuities? Constant reboots? No continuity at all? It's pretty impossible to keep "clear and simple" the longer you go along. Last edited by Jmacq1; 10-03-2012 at 11:53 AM.. |

Goku from Dragon Ball and Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin. These two bastards just don't die no matter what their enemies throw at them. They get only beaten but they still end up beating their enemies, and they're still breathing, I mean, wtf? Somebody kill these two muthas.
Snake Eyes. I want a comic series of him beaten to pulp by Storm Shadow. He doesn't deserve to beat a life-long practitioner of the ninja arts. Somebody kill this mutha. Spiderman. I don't like heroes associated with an arthropod that can easily be stepped on but branded with extraordinary abilities and powers. The recent Spiderman movie just fueled my hatred. Iron Man. Because of the Marvel Civil War. Hulk. Just like Goku, Himura Kenshin and Snake Eyes, this mutant needs to be beaten or dead sometimes. Batman. I just don't like him only because he's pussy enough not to kill his villains, officially.
