Man...don't do that. Take your victory, let it go, and move on. Doing that would make you no better than that jackass in your story. Besides, they're gonna cover some of the attorney fees. I tell ya what - MY company wouldn't do that!
I'm guessing that your time with this company is just about done anyway. Subpoenaing the HR Manager doesn't go over well, I'm guessing... Quote:
Actually...the HR Manager was in full support of me. We are pretty tight. She is the only one I am not putting on the list. Her getting the subpoena was just a formality. She would have gone and testified even without it. My last company (as bad as they hosed me) would have taken care of this from the get go. Any REAL and RESPONSIBLE would.
Both she and I are already looking for jobs. In fact, I turned down a job offer this past Monday. They won't have a choice but to settle with me. They are guilty of negligence and creating and maintaining a hostile work environment. They coprporate HR person even asked my HR manager if she thinks I would sue them. Me having a lawsuit against the company does not have to disclosed. Plus, this isn't some BS and frivolous lawsuit...this is legit and resulted in real and serious damages. That other employee was dumb to start with. Instead of suing the company he sued you. He could have gone after the company and it's likely, the company would have settled quietly to avoid the bad press. But he figured later on that there would not be anything to gain (deep pockets) by suing you alone. |

I love paraphrasing. Good luck, I hate how litigious our society has become.

And it's rarely the members of society that are as litigious as society would have you believe.

I hate it when you are doing your job, trying to follow company policies and protect the company, and what do they do? They hang you out to dry the first chance they get. If you do decide to go after them, I hope you are successful, man. Good luck.

i know this guy that runs a heating and air business in cincy, he actually organized a "black list" of workers with several other HVAC companies down there so they could avoid hiring "bad workers". it's illegal, but business' have destroyed workers rights and can now do whatever they want.
