Awesome thread!!
Here's my short list: Zaire's Ames Western Auto Ben Franklin Service Merchandise K-Mart Wal-Mart TRU KB toys Sears JCPennys The best by far was a Ben Franklin that was in a town in south FL about an hr. away from me. They had a room in the back that was "specifically" for G.I.JOE!! The first time I found any '85 figures or vehicles was in that room. They had every single vehicle available at the time except for the USS Flagg!! Sadly, the days of the small dept. store are long gone. We sacrificed all that warm and fuzzy for $5.00 in savings. For shame |

I completely forgot that Western Auto used to have a decent Joe section. I especially remember getting some of the smaller vehichles there on trips for spark plugs or fan belts with my Grandfather.

Thanks to everyone for sharing. I like thinking back on stuff like this, especially as we get closer to the holidays. |

My grandparents would give us sears catalogs and we would circle what we wanted. They would just buy everything we circled. It took a little fun out of it but at least you knew what you where getting. I'm 30 and I grew up in Orlando. We had a lot of places to get toys.I remember buying TMNT at the wal-mart,but TRU was the one that I have the fondest memories of. |
