I've turned into quite the coffee nerd lately. I've devoted a lot of time to learning about coffee and brewing, though I still have a lot to learn. One thing that is really important to me now is fresh, organic coffee beans.
I get fresh coffee twice a month in the mail from Tonx.org (they source it, roast it, then send it to me within 24 hours of roasting). For me, it makes a difference, since the usual grocery store suspects aren't worth getting. I was using the local coffee shop for awhile, but even that isn't fresh enough. I'm just crazy I guess, lol. I use a manual ceramic grinder which works great for me and fits my budget, especially compared to the equivalent electric grinders. In addition I brew my coffee soley via an polished steel French Press, I love getting the full bodied flavor, oils, and aromas. It's a huge difference to me anyway. I'll never go back to the standard. Is anyone else this in love with coffee here? lol.

Haven't had coffee from a french press in a while. I may buy one as they can be found for cheap. Lately if I do get coffee, usually it's a cafe Americano.

I like a good Americano. Have you seen the Aeropress Shin? It's not really a French Press or traditional press, but it's affordable and seems popular.

Greetings fellas!
I'm new to this forum and would like to post a proper introduction. I'm Darth Regar from Indonesia, as my ID implied I'm a Star Wars fanboy but recently I collect and try to army-build modern GI Joe figures. I've been a silent reader of this forum for a while and in the end I couldn't resist not to register :P |

1) How much Coffee (cups or pots) do you drink on average in a day?
Depends on what I am doing. Use mugs and can be 4-6 a day. 2) Do you drink your Coffee with anything in it? (I personally like it without anything in it...as I prefer to taste the brewed goodness) Just milk but occasionally have a gaelic one. 3) Do you grind your own beans at home? If so do You think it makes a difference in taste/quality? Use Freeze Dried but looking for a decent coffee machine ![]() 4) Do You have a favorite brand or flavor? (either whole bean or ground) Kenco but coffee on holiday in Tenerife was Italian which takes some beating but never knew the product name. 5) Lastly for now...do You do espresso too? No, find it too strong and not big enough mugs. |

![]() I quit the stuff about a year ago. Had awful headaches for about a week, tougher withdrawal than when I quit alcohol! Man I loved coffee, but I don't miss it too much now (much like alcohol). I sleep better, and I dream all the time now. Never used to dream much. WOW sorry coffee aficionados for harshing on your buzz! Keep drinking away if you fancy, it's not the worst thing in the world, maybe even beneficial in some ways. Though 4-5 mugs (like above poster) might be overboard!
