Yard sale? Sell 'em at 25 cents a pop. Hey, at least you can buy a couple of Joes for that.

^ Not too many people still have a working VCR though I bet. I only have one VCR that still works and only because it is a VCR/DVD combo player. And the only VHS tapes I have are old Disney cartoons... like really old... like Goofy Sports... man that one is a classic. LOL.

Seperate them by Genre and write them down! Make a list of ALL titles. Sci Fi, Horror, Actions & Comedies ALWAYS sell. Even if they bring in a buck apiece, these are the first flicks that will go.
You could also trade them at some places. I know of a Used Record/VHS/DVD place that will take popular titles in trade if they're in good condition! Yard Sale or Flea Market - even if you go to a flea market to look around, look for VHS dealers. My fave one here in Fl has one and she buys movies from me all the time, again, she only gives a quarter or 50 cents apiece, but it adds up! Craigslist 'em! Good luck!

I say craigslist or tag sale. Last year we had a multi-family tag sale and my giant box of movies that I had in storage went for 40$ in no time flat. I would say there were maybe 80 of them, so when the guy asked me how much they were each, I just said 40$ and you can take them all, and the tote their in.

You should keep a couple handy in case you need an excuse to leave someplace you don't want to be. If they ask you where you are going you can simply say, "I have to go return some video tapes."

First off sorry to hear about your Uncle.
Second, check around for Used DVD/Video game stores. We had a new used video game/dvd store open up. They buy VHS tapes for 75 cents to $1.00 each. Depending which VHS tapes (original GodFather, Star Wars) could go for $5-6. Heck, 1000 VHS tapes at 75 cents each is $750.00 8-) |
