For the experts out there.
What is the amount of time you can allow to lapse before you file a claim on a purchase? I purchased 2 loose complete Lego modular buildings through Bricklink in January. The seller has responded to every communication that I've sent, but every 2 weeks it's an excuse or something stating that 'I'm missing X pieces' or 'I'm waiting for a few more parts to arrive' followed by 'this part was here, but it's broken/discolored/etc'. I'm usually quite patient, and if he's really getting the parts in order I don't mind the wait. I just don't want to wait too long and get screwed out of almost a grand. Any thoughts? Opinions? Dumbass remarks?

I believe its 45 days. If you linked it to your credit card, you might be able to file a chargeback?
And I'm fairly certain you've been screwed out of a grand. Sorry man. Last edited by RuckusJr; 04-16-2012 at 02:33 PM.. |

Yeah, you might have waited too long already.

If I have to I'll file a claim. Bricklink will at least back it up. It's not that he hasn't been communicating, it's just shitty waiting a while for something that you really want.

What is Bricklink?
(Not because I don't know how to google it, because I don't care to) |

Since the Paypal charge was in January your best bet is calling your credit card company directly. Hopefully, you used a credit card instead of your bank account. Depends on the credit card but it's usually 90 days although I've heard of 60 days. I hope it was late January and not early January.
Good luck. |

I work retail and we have to keep a rolling year now because the credit card chargebacks can be done over a longer time than in the past. I believe it's 6 months for some cards now.
