Just saw the movie Quarentine and i give it a D-
Its your typical zombie type suspence film, but the suspense is too cliche. The basic plot is a reporter for some news show is doing a ride along with the fire department. They get a medical call to some apartment complex where some lady was reportedly freaking out. when they get to the complex they get quarentined in for some reason and all hell brakes loose. Cool concept right? Well they screwed it up. (like always) Heres the problems i had: The camera! it was shot Blair Witch style, and made me pretty motion sick. ( i dont mind this type of filming style, but dont make it so damn jumpy!) Unnecessary panic! People are freaking out and causing so much of a problem its hard to watch and just plane out made me so angry i started sweating! The panic was just there to thicken the suspence, but it was so unecessary and un-naturale that it took away from the rest of the film. **spoilers** STUPID descisions! Heres the cliche monster movie crap in a nut shell. Instead of staying put in one of the many secure locations they have available to them, they descided to locate themselves in a room with various infected people who then try to eat them. Then they run around for a while and instead of finding another secure location they then descide to locate themselves in another room with more infected people who then try to eat them again, then they run around a while and then once more instead of securing themseleves in a secure location they descided to run up and down the stairs through all the zombies untill they are all dead. The ending = CRAP! Early in the film you find out this is some kind of advanced form a rabies thats spreading super quick (kinda cool i guess) but with nowhere else for this movie to go the writers add a stupid twist of a doomsday cult making the virus to kill mankind (28 DAYS LATER?). Then to boot, the remaining people (instead of finding a secure location) wonder around for a while untill they find an infected person who kills them. THE END. I think it was a great concept, with cool zombie characters. The stupid panic, and cliche ass running around screaming just made me upset and made the movie really hard to watch. The screaming and running around takes away from the scaryness of the movie. Your so angered and distracted by all the stupid cliche crap that the parts ment to scare you go un-noticed. At the credits the audience gave a giant BOOOOOOO! lol it was pretty funny. I give it a solid D-. it only gets a passing grade because the zombie characters were pretty great. THANK YOU!
I was maybe going to see it but I wasn't sure about it. The commercials made it look somewhat promising but I was still iffy on it. I can't wait for the new Bond movie <3 THE DAY IS GETTING CLOSER.

Sounds like a bad rip off of 28 days later where animal activists broke into a laboratory and let loose an animal infected with a virus (possibly an advanced form of rabies since everyone infected had a rage mentality) Thanx for confirming my idea that I wouldn't like this movie |

So Doomsday cult makes a rabies virus that turns people into zomibes to wipe out mankind?

Its seems like maybe it ties in with that movie or something. the way you find out this is the camera pans by some news paper clippings. One clipping says "chemical weapons lab broken into" the rest are about doomsday cults. even the zombie creatures vomit blood and crap like in 28 days later. I didnt even think about the tie in between the 2 movies. Either way it doesnt add anything to it, the movie still blows lol |

Your crazy man. What else did you want from it? It was dark full of gore, and suspenseful. The acting was bad, but who cares it's a horror movie.
Go in root for the zombies see a bunch of gore it's a win for all involved. The movie was killer, and I watch a lot of horror movies. |

I figured it wouldn't be as good as the original.
But yeah, it's a zombie movie, a remake of a zombie movie that had recently came out, so you can't go in expecting it to be the greatest movie ever made. |

Well You know how that goes. Remaking a foregin movie shot for shot for an english speaking audince. I'm sure the original is better, but this one is in theaters now, and you can heckel it with an audince. It was fun, and scary.

[rec] was awesome.
one of the creepier movies that i've seen in awhile. and as soon as i saw how they were using the final shot of the movie in the big hollywood remake, I lost interest. really, hunt down the original. it's worth seeing.
