It had damn well better not end until after George R. R. Martin finishes up A Song of Ice and Fire.

The Julian Calendar started accounting for Leap Years in year 8 and the latest Mayan stuff dates to about 900BC, so that like 225 days worth of leap days, so like 7 months. That means the world should have ended 7 months ago. The problem with this is that their "years" were only 260 days, so the crazies would have figured that into determining when the "End of the World" would take place in days, and would have likely calculated the missing leap days into the equation.

Will THE world end? I doubt it. Will OUR world end? Eventually.
EDITED: The stuff about leap years and the exact number of days makes my argument moot. But I stand by my last statement. Last edited by docdrako; 03-09-2012 at 05:37 AM.. |

From what I've heard their calender ended in 2012, but did not predict the end of the world, it just ran out. It's like saying my 'cute kittens in amusing perilous predicaments' calender ends on December the 31 so the world must end the next day!

If America fell apart that wouldn't be the same as the end of the world but it sure would change things a lot. Were still pretty young nation compared to say China they have been around forever. Edit: This is not meant to be a political question by the way. Just looking at history since it can tell us alot about the future. Last edited by DaveViper; 03-09-2012 at 04:48 PM.. |
