So, what band do you think leads in keeping their sound basically the same over the many years?
On the flip side, what band out their leads in changing there sound the most over the years? I personally would put “AC/DC” as the band that has kept the same sound going and “Rush” for the band that has changed the most. What do you guys think? |

AC/DC with Bon Scott sounds completely different than with Brian Johnson.
And everything since The Razors Edge all sounds the same, and not in a good way. You can't even tell those CD's apart. |

cannibal corpse has not only been consistently rocking' for ever, it seems, but they seem to be getting better as time goes by. i can't think of any other band in any other genre that can say that.

It usually takes a band to be commercially popular before their sound remains the same over a period of time. They just keep going to the well with the basically the same sound because historically it sells for them. For instance AC/DC, Def Leppard, ZZ Top and more recent Nickelback.

AC/DC has kept their sound longer than anybody I can think of. While other bands feel the need to do something different they just keep giving their fans what they want.
