It made news...he's shutting his mouth and saying he didn't find anything because he now has a $26,000 increase in income the IRS will be looking for next year on his returns.
After a little more thought than the knee jerk reaction - in this instance - someone flipping it to make a profit, I'd keep the money. If the seller said this is a safe from my family's estate...yadda yadda yadda, I'd offer to give some of it back. |

Still, in either case that you mention a reasonable person would have gone into the safe to see if anything was in there before selling it. I am getting ready to sell my old car, and you can be sure that I went through and cleaned out the car from top to bottom. So, I still am of the opinion that it's the sellers responsibility to check out what he is selling. |

Seems like the buyer claimed it was a joke once he found out the seller wanted some of that money. If I even thought there was a chance of getting sued for it I would say I was joking too.
P.S. I'd totally keep the money. |
