before its said the reason I called is simple. the last thing i want to do is drop this money in the new shed and putting in the office trailer to only have code enforcement knocking on my door because its 6 inches too close to my fence etc. I plan to have this for a long time and would rather do it right in case some new person moves in and calls enforcement because its blocking his view or something stupid like that.

ALWAYS CHECK!!!!! You never know about the stupid laws (also youre in the Peoples Republic of Cala Forn I A) and codes. Its ALWAYS better to check.
When I was redoing our house (still am 8 years later, really) I checked into needing a building permit for a deck. Yup, $5 bucks. Also checked into needing a building (or anything) permit for raising my "garage", a 12'x24'x10' building on railroad ties, to put a slab under. Nope. You never know, and youre always better off to check first. Go back and read my original response on page 2. Get a bunch of patio blocks, use 2x6 pressure treated for the stringers and put them directly onto the patio blocks. Use pressure treated plywood for the floor, paint it with a few good coats of paint and while the paint is wet throw some fine, FINE sand in it for traction and youve got your floor for a couple hundred bucks (prices might be different in your area) and its done in a day. |
