Why is every zombie apocalypse the same? Would the world really go to crap? Would the military really bomb every single city to hell to try to get rid of the undead? With all the guns people have these days Im not sure that it would last very long. What do you guys think?

A zombie apocalypse film would be pretty brief if the military didn't implode and if citizens acted intelligently about defending themselves and avoiding crowds, etc. To make a movie about zombies winning the fight you kind of have to follow that formula in one way or another.

This article will set things right.
7 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Outbreak Would Fail (Quickly) | Cracked.com I always argue the same thing. Walking Dead is the biggest example. How did the world fall completely apart in just those few days Rick was in the hospital. He awoke obviously still well nourished and not dehydrated so it couldn't even have been a week.

What if they did a world where it was like normal life, but now to get to work you travel in an armored convoy all neighborhoods are gated and guarded, the undead are more of just a pestilence than anything else. just an idea

Thats kind of a movie I always hoped someone would do. The apocalypse is over and people are learning to deal with it instead of getting rid of it or they realize they cant.

To me, the breakdown of society that usually occurs in zombie movies is way more scary and bleak than the monsters themselves. But I agree that in reality, a zombie outbreak would probably be put down pretty quickly.
One thing to remember, however, is that in most zombie fiction, zombie fiction doesn't exist. So it's not as if everyone in a zombie movie has a basic idea of how to deal with zombies from watching other zombie movies. It catches them 100% off guard and would be a scenario no one would have ever contemplated. As for The Walking Dead, it differs slightly from a lot of other zombie stories in that bites aren't required to spread infection. Everyone who drops dead reanimates regardless of how they died. So I can imagine that zombies could do a decent amount of damage before anyone had any clue what was happening. But again, not enough to destroy society in a few days or weeks. |

Dead Rising is set after a zombie outbreak, but not a total breakdown of society. Fido which is more of a comedy like Shaun of the Dead. Set during 50's after the "zombie war" where gated cities are built around a apocalyptic world and they actually use zombies in domestic capacities.
I've watched a few more on Amazon Prime. Can't remember the name, but one takes place after a zombie out break and areas that are apocalyptic and still have zombies is the bases for a reality show like Survivor, where they drop a group of people into infected areas and see how long they can survive. Most are bad b movies, but just to see different takes on the zombie genre. Re-Kill on Netflix is another one.
