I was reading USA Today when I came across this article.
On June 2005 29 year old Lt Michael Murphy was shot in the back while making a call for help. His last words over the radio were "Roger that, sir. Thank you." This brave wounded man move himself into the line of fire to make this radio call while his 4 men SEAL team was being over ran by 50 plus anti-coalitin fighters. After being shot in the back and dropping his radio, he picked it up completed the call. Lt Murphy returned to his position with his men and continued fighting. A U.S. helicopter sent to rescue them was hit by an RPG, killing all 16 aboard. Yesterday his parents were given the Medal of Honor by President Bush. After reading the article I looked down to see this figure, and could not belive the resemblance this figure had to Lt Murphy. So I put this together as a reminder that as the Holidays grow near remember those who will never come home. Rest in Peace my friend and Thank you. I think Hasbro and other companies that produce military toys should consider modeling faces after our real fallen troops. to a lot of us the military is just a toy produced for our hobby; it would be a nice reminder and salute to what it really is modeled after.

Here it is http://www.defenselink.mil/news/news....aspx?id=15889 although it doesn't say who it is that making them. However after re-reading the articleI think I saw these at TRU and for some reason thought they were Mcfarlane. Last edited by Blowtorch; 10-23-2007 at 07:42 PM.. |

Many non-Hasbro companies in fact do model many of their likenesses after real military personnel, although real names are never given.
BTW, what line is the first figure from again? What assortment? Thanks. -PJ |
