I'm going to be shopping for a new camera sometime soon.
I'm obviously looking for something ideal to take pics of toys and dios with but also just a camera for everyday, outdoor use. I'm no photographer so I don't need to break the bank here....any suggestions? |

If you're in the market for a new cellphone as well as a new camera I'd recommend the Samsung Galaxy S II it takes high quality pics and videos.

It's ok to screw around with in a pinch, but I wouldnt rely on it to show off a collection or take regular old family pics or anything. |

Any Canon Powershot ELPH would do. For the higher end camera DSLR I'd. go with a Nikon D90.

What kind of price range are you looking at?
< $100 --- everything is pretty much the same. Pick the one with the best optical zoom, and make sure the flash can be turned off. $100 - $400 --- Go with Canon, Nikon, or Pentax. The Canon Rebel T3 is on sale for around $440. It's about as cheap as a good DSLR will go. For $1000 you can get the Canon Rebel T3i which is a very nice camera, but it take patience and practice to learn it. |

I used a canon rebel T1I to shoot almost all of the pictures in my Marvel Legends guidebook, but the terrain shots were taken with my Sony Cybershot. You can get a decent one for around $150-$200, and as long as your lighting is good, it will yield good results. I use it for all of my ebay and family pics.
