the plug goes into the guitar in a special cable that plugs into the ps3 controller jack.

$100 for a Squire isn't bad. When dealing with stuff like Gibson and Fender, you're mostly paying for the name. A new Squire should be around $100, but they're 300 just because of the name.
No joke, I hear those First Act guitars that are sold at Target are pretty good.

DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT buy a First Act. There isnt a bigger POS on the market. It should be illegal to sell those they are such junk. If it breaks, youre screwed royally. They are trash. My wife HATES when kids bring her First Act "instruments" that are broken, because 99.9% of the time they can NOT be repaired. They are "throw away" instruments. Simple as that.

I dont even know were to put this since its not gi joe related for the wanted section so....
So I got rocksmith for my ps3 for christmas. I dont have an electric guitar to play it. The game claims any electric guitar with the jack plug thing on the bottom will work. basically you plug it the cord in the bottom to the ps3 and the ps3 turns into your amp. So I am looking for an adult size electric gutiar for cheap. Solid body is fine and brand doesnt matter. I saw a brand called viper that makes them for around 60-70 shipped new but if I can find somethng less then cool. I can trade in store credit if you like. Plenty of neat gi joe stuff or if the price is right ill just buy it. if you can help let me know thanks Jason Sorry, I don't have a guitar for sale. I just wanted to pipe in and say Rocksmith is pretty awesome. I bought a Dean Vendetta guitar a couple years ago for around $180.00. Started taking lessons, but it got too expensive. Got the game for $50.00 on sale at Gamestop Christmas eve. It's defintely helping me learn and it's fun. |

I want to know what this game is about now. I'm def not as good as I was on the guitar but I still screw around with some chord progressions and riffs here and there.
I haven't checked out the Viper stuff but really if I were you I'd stick to the big names and get a starter kit. Fender, Dean, B.C Rich, Jackson, Gibson,....ESP, PRS (both of which most likely DO NOT offer a starter set.) just go with something tried and true....I know for a fact BC Rich has one of those starter kits in the Kerry King signature app...flames and tribal crap etc etc. The Squire is cool, for 100.00 you're getting a Fender that for what you're gonna be doing with it--it's gonna be bullet proof. As you progress and get better you'll start to notice the differences in guitars the more you play them. Go to any big music store and just ask to plug in at a small amp--I used to spend HOURS in Guitar Center screwing with stuff. Then I worked there PT, got the discount and screwed LOL. I remember having my 80.00 bass that was a Fender P-Bass knock off and thinking "this is all I'll ever need", as soon as I started learning some Iron Maiden songs and played a "real bass" I was like, get this piece of shit away from me...it sucks! lol. You're probably a ways a way from that if youre just getting started, stick with the big names and any good music store will let you hold it and mess around before you buy it. Learn some Sabbath, drink a bunch of beer and have fun |

Ultimateguitar.com gave it a 3.8 rating. But if you're just trying to learn and save a few bucks, that's not a bad deal. |

dude, if I can be straight with you for a minute...
I've played guitar all my life, from classical as a kid through electric as a teen, and through many many bands over the last 20 years, and have mixed feelings about this whole new video game / guitar mash-up... ...that said, here's my straight up advice to you. Don't pay for a cheap guitar. It will not stay in tune. It will play like crap. The action will be bad. More people turn away from guitar because they started with a cheap guitar, when they may have gone on to be a virtuoso if they had just had a real instrument. Bad action on a guitar pushes a lot of beginners away, because it is hard to push down the strings. I'm not telling you to go buy a PRS, or a Fender USA body guitar. My advice- buy a mexican Fender Strat. They will run you $280=$360 used, and they are great guitars. They will play great, and you will learn, because it will be easier to play. Good guitars aren't cheap, and cheap guitars aren't good.
