I contacted what is left of Ideal a few years back with the intenion of obtaining the rights to a robot toy property from my youth. I talked to the licensing rep for a few of the old Ideal properties but he did not know anything about the one I was looking into.
Inhumanoids is still controlled by Hasbro, I am pretty sure. There is a few I'd love to know the fate of. Mego's is pretty all over the web. Why isn't Shogi in this thread??! |

Inhumanoids is still controlled by Hasbro, I am pretty sure. I'd love to see a return of Robo Force. Unfortunately I don't think it'd sell as is/was though. Kids would probably be bored with it, suction cups aren't as cool anymore I decided to start checking out who owns some of these companies that made toys we grew up with: Mattel Owns Ideal - Robo Force, Manglors Tyco Toys - Dino Riders, The Incredible Crash Dummies, Battletech Jakks Pacific Owns Remco - Crystar, Karate Kid, Sgt. Rock, Dukes of Hazard, Warlord, Universal Monsters Hasbro Owns Kenner - MASK, Sky Commanders, Bone Age, Centurions, Silver Hawks Tonka - Steel Monsters, Spiral Zone, Gobots, Rock Lords Coleco - Sectaurs, Rambo, Starcom (however, it appears Mattel took over production of Starcom in the early 90's) Not owned but in a partnership with Takara Tomy - Microman/Micronauts, Transformers, Starriors, Zoids, Tron, Battle Beasts Acclaim Owns LJN - Thundercats, Bionic Six, Enertech water guns, Tiger Sharks, Indiana Jones, Magnum PI. (Acclaim made LJN a Video Game only maker in the 80's and stopped it's toy production) Now this doesn't exactly mean that these companies could re-make some of these toylines as a lot of these were licensed from the owners (IE: most anything LJN made, Rambo, Karate Kid, Most anything Kenner made in the 90's, Most anything Remco made, etc...) Hasbro probably got Centurions when they acquired Kenner back in the early 90's (unless Kenner originally licensed it from someone else)
What robot line were you looking into? I'd love to see a return of Robo Force. Unfortunately I don't think it'd sell as is/was though.
