Same here. And then Id contact ebay directly and let them know youre having a problem with this buyer AND Id block the buyer from bidding on my other stuff. Right is right, and if he leaves negative for this, fight that too. Some stuff is worth rolling over for, this isnt. He sent you a message through ebay telling you straight up that HE broke the item after it arrived. Thats your proof to ebay when push comes to shove. No way would I do anything else. Send the nice message explaining that its beyond your obligation and take it from there. Just be prepared, he is going to be a total dink about it since he contacted you about it in the first place. There are too many theives on ebay, and too many sellers worry about their rating to fight them. Just know and be prepared because this will get ugly and take a while to straighten out in your favor.

in 99% of cases, you can fight and win a seller screwing you over. In 1% of cases, you can fight and win a buyer screwing you over. That's the difference on ebay.
It's not about only buyers being dicks, there's scammers on both sides. |

this sums up ebay right now. i read on another board that one seller had just one buyer leave 1's and it brought his average from a 5.0 to a 4.4 and he was banned from selling for 2 weeks.

Thats right, there are. Wrong is wrong no matter what side it is. The buyer contacted him and admitted to breaking it. Its not the sellers problem. If the buyer files a complaint or leaves anything less than perfect feedback, file a complaint against the buyer since you have their own admission of breaking the item, IN WRITING no less. This isnt rocket appliances.

the equasion since ebay has implimented the new policies are completely lopsided, of course you have an occasional seller but most are/were trying to run legitimate buisnieses and shifty buyers have put them out.
one example, I sold a temperpedic pillow. brand new in package. I won it at work and didnt need it so i sold it. stated in the auction since its a pillow i wont accept returns (sanitary reasons) customer recieved it, used it a week and decided they didnt like it and claimed the pillow arrived damaged. ebay rep agrees the buyers story doesnt make sense but still forced me to take it back and there response was for me to resell it. You cant resel a temperpedic pillow for anything close to what it goes for new. buyer got his money back and ebay paid for his shipping. box arrived and it looked like the buyer stepped all over it. there was nothing wrong with the pillow. but again sellers are the only shady people and all buyers are on the up and up right lody and xxx?

Given that the buyer claims they were expecting a packaged item and the auction shows and says it's a loose figure, I'd tell them to fuck off (in a nice way)
Yeah, I don't care if it would be pointless to fight, I'd still fight it |
