I WAS STUNNED WHEN IT HAPPENED!!!! I was like this is a bad joke, last year when I was getting married at the church they put that video slide show of both my wife and I as kids and played a song in background. Her's was Sara Evans "Suds In the Bucket;" mine was JERRY REED EAST BOUND AND DOWN!!! Ironically the day I said "I do" to my wife was the 30th anniversary of the release of Smokey and the Bandit. Now I feel a part of me is gone
R.I.P. SNOWMAN!!!!!!! It's strange how these celebs who are all over the news don't effect me at all if they're alive or dead, but someone like Jerry Reed dying does. I mean, he's been out of the spotlight for years, the last time I saw him acting was Waterboy in 98. I guess the differece in him and others is the talent he had and they lack. Don't forget his cameo appearance on Mama's Family as The Worm King of Tallahassee, classic. |

Jerry Reed will be Remembered always! It's a shame, he will always be one of my heroes.

Yep I did not really plan it to fall on that date per say some can argue it was released May 26, 1977. But they showed it on May 19, 1977 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Thinking it was not going to set well with the New Yorkers they found it to be hilarious. Now the irony of this story is I did not choose the date the Reverend who married my wife and I chose that date on account of that following Saturday he was going fishing!
