It's the same reason why you can't buy insurance after the fact. Which I'm thinking they probably didn't have either. It's a shame that the place burned down, but it's not the firefighters fault.

It's only $75 bucks...kind of like an insurance policy. And it only comes to a bit over $6 buck per month..why wouldn't you pay it?

Actually, I remember hearing about the fee back when they first created it. The radio guy was saying this exact thing was going to happen one day.
I suppose they do not pay the city property taxes since they live outside the city limits. Heck, $75 is cheap considering. |

I have absolutely no problems with this either, except.....why are the firefighters dispatched only to stand by and do nothing? Who is liable if someone dies in the fire? I understand theyre there to make sure if the home of a paid person catches, they can fight it, but really, isnt this counter-productive in a way?
There should be a record in the computer of who has and hasnt purchased the fire coverage. If you havent purchased it, you get NO response. Call the police if you need police assistance. |

Call the police if you need police assistance. i think you answered your own question. they were there to make sure it didnt spread to the paying neighbors, no more, no less.

Just think if superheroes did this.

I still feel it's a bit of a slap in the face for them to be there and do nothing, but if they're actually making sure there's no loss of life, I can see why they'd be there. |

Nice Becks. Funny thing is, this is how it was in the old days. There would be a placard on the fronts of businesses that showed if they paid the fire tax or not. Funny, I didn't think this was still going on today. But they didn't pay the $75 beans, then they're screwed

Thank god this didnt happen to citizens of the country who have to pay county and state taxes. Oh wait it did. The mayor and all responding firefighters need to have a bullet put in the back of their shulls and their houses set on fire. But thats just my opion.
