Hey guys need some "real-world" advice, cuz I believe you guys have more experienced with "mixed company" and are generally more socially adjusted than me.
I got invited to a wedding of a co-worker that I wish I hadn't. So, I am half-assing it all the way. The couple registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Any way, when I purchased the registry items, Clerk said "they had complimentary gift packaging." So, I said "go ahead." This is what came out: Is this okay to give "as is" at the wedding/reception? I don't want to go to place and pay to just get a bunch of towels professionally gift wrapped. After all, by getting invitation, I already spent more money than I had wanted to and/or expected. Had to give up Matty sale already. |

Geez man... We have wives so we don't have to think about this kind of stuff!
But those look fine for a co-worker wedding.

Thanks SB!
I had to turn to the Tank because I don't have a wife, and I don't go/ get invited to go to weddings. Consequence of hanging around strippers and whore exclusively |

No problem. If it was a brother/sister or best friend, you would have to pony up the $$$ for those expensive as f*** gift boxes.

Yes, but if I ask one my "go to" sluts, she will expect to go to the event. This will reduce my ability to fornicate with someone from said event and/or go to the "club" afterwards.

Your best bet is to have a few drinks, then log on here and get chatty with us.
Totally forget about the wedding in it's entirety. Show up to work the next day and make sure you look like crap, just be down and out and a bit melancholy. When you see the bride or groom, crack a half assed smile and give a whole hearted handshake then say "Hey congratulations, I'm so sorry I couldnt make it but I had to go to the hospital, my nephew got hurt." This will get you off the hook. There is no way in hell they are gonna be straight forward enough to ask "what happened." They'll be more sorry for you and happy that you're ok, which in turn takes all heat off of you not showing up. If by chance they do ask what happened, do the whole "Ah, kid was horseplaying with his friends and fell out of a tree, his rib almost punctured his lung and my sister was beside herself. Everything seems to be ok.....for now." If you still feel bad about this, take 1 oxycontin with a 2 beers then log on here. On an empty stomach it will take you about 15 min to feel semi-euphoric/glass is half full feeling. Wedding diverted. |

I would just wrap the towels in a much larger towel and throw a bow on it.
But what you got there is acceptable too. |
