If the Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place 3500 years before Darth Vader, then how do they have Clone Troopers in the trailers when it was Obi Wan who discovered the Clone troopers? Or am I wrong about the troopers in the game and they are not clones? Hopefully someone her is a big enough Star Wars fan that they can clear this up before the game comes out. I love the cinematics but can't figure out how the clone troopers can be in it. Help!
"When does Star Wars : The Old Republic take place in relation to the movies? Star Wars : The Old Republic takes place more than 3,500 years before the rise of Darth Vader. The most powerful Sith Empire in history has emerged from deep space to attack the Republic and its legendary Jedi guardians. After decades of war, a tenuous truce has been established between the Sith Empire and the Republic, but events occurring in the game are leading the galaxy back to an all-out war. The Clones Obi Wan discovered were ordered for the Republic. The process may have existed for many years and previous armies may have been ordered and produced. Maybe no one placed an order for a thousand or so years that the jedi archives had knowledge of. So the only way someone would know about Kamino would be if they researched the subject. But when Tyranus placed the orders he erased any previous references in the archives.

It's mostly just a fashion thing--the designers can't be bothered to change the armor. It also doesn't help that they made that one guy in the game trailer look like Temuera Morrison/Jango Fett. But they're not clones in game, you can customize your character to sort of look how you want. I made a girl trooper when I did a weekend beta test (not bragging, everyone who signed up for the forums 2-3 years ago got an invite at some point).

I think the most obvious answer is holes the size of the Death Star regarding the continuity that is in the Star Wars conglomurate via Georgie Lucas.

Armor is armor the style may change but it still has similar looks...I mean look at the basic modern military helmets their all pretty much similar just styled differant.
OR the designers are lazy. OR the designers purposely want to evoke a sense of continuity...I mean think about it yes Vader is likely one of the most iconic images from Star Wars and they kind of model most Sith looks after him...and right next to Vader is the Stormtrooper another iconic image, so it makes sense that they would keep trying to replicate that. |

The also have ships that look kind of like Star Destroyes. The easy explanation is that the designs are cultrural as are the styles of uniforms. The uniforms and ships change, but they still keep that overall feel.
