So I was watching some old HSN Don West videos because this guy is funny when he is selling cards. I ran across a video called the Baseball Card Movie.
It is an interesting look at this cool little card shop. About halfway through the video the owner is talking about some new baseball card products coming out. Exquisite Baseball from Upper Deck. $450.00 PER PACK. Holy Knights of Columbus. WHY IN THE F&%( are baseball cards $450 per pack???? Last edited by Cobra80; 11-13-2011 at 01:53 AM.. |

a buddy of mine actually collects the exquisite football cards, its like 500 a pack which is nuts, i told him he is retarded. there is also some kind of thick card you can get through exquisite that he purchased, and it comes with a serial number on it and depending on what the serial number is they send you a rookie card of someone awesome, its all a surprise tho, but the rookie is supposed to be worth atleast like 3-500 or something like that he was telling me at a minimum, idk i dont collect cards but i do know what your talking about.

I am 31 and I don't want to sound like I am 81 but come on. 50 cents to a buck when we were kids in the 80's. I know my local card shop sells packs that are $75-$125 per pack.
I can't imagine a $500 pack of baseball or football cards. I heard one kid in the movie call it cardboard crack. I laughed because people call the Joes plastic crack. I'll match your $500 pack of cards with an AFA 85 v1 Storm Shadow MOC. Wham, your silly baseball cards can't complete with a minty MOC v1 Storm Shadow. |

Tops 1988 were only 55 cents a pack and they are still the best baseball cards ever made.

Most I've paid for a pack was 45 bucks. But that was about 5 years ago. I did watch a guy buy packs of MLB cards that were close to 200 a pack. You got 3 cards, all graded. One guy pulled a 1 of 1 gem mint 10 autograph of some guy who played in 1 game and had only 1 career at bat in 1918. Card sold for 18 bucks on ebay. Way to invest.
