Where I live you are allowed to call 911 if you suspect a driver is impaired.
She ate a hashbrown off the bus floor ? she must be high/drunk.

I can't stand busy-bodies who stick their noses into other people's business - but this is NOT one of those times.
That woman is responsible for the welfare of those children and was obviously behaving like an idiot. You did the right thing, IMO. This makes me think of the thread Lody started a while back, saying he was pissed that he saw a kid on some woman's lap while driving. I felt just the opposite in that instance - I said "it's her business if she wants to be stupid". I can't quite explain why I feel differently about the two scenarios. Good call
I did the same thing last year when I witnessed a woman with her 1 year old on her lap while driving. I followed her for miles while on the phone with the police. |

i would call the cops too.
i remember whwn a school bus driver reported another school bus drive to her employers for being drunk, they said they would handle it,days or weeks later, she is still working and driving drunk, same driver reports it to the police, polic follow and observe then pull over and arrest drunk driver. next day the whistle blower was fired.......................... got to protect the children, thats the most important thing.some woman chopped me of,passing after sign said do not pass, she had to stomp the brakes to get in front of me,little kid was bouncing around back seat, unrestrained.if it wernt for me driving a slow truck, her ass woulda been reported.

Whats more Fd up, she only does this job like 2 hours a day. You cant lay off the hash browns for 2 hours? really? I mean she purposely went out of her way to eat while driving. you know how i know this?
First you cant get a bus through the drive through, just a fact. Second they let those buses and run and inspect everything before they leave the yard. She could of ate then. |

Here's your medal.
I don't think you did anything wrong or out of line or anything that makes you an asshole. I would have done exactly the same thing. Was there anything outside of the neglect behavior that bothered you? |

As for the bus driver issue at hand...Sure calling her superiors might have lost her her job, but it sounds like she didn't really cared about it (or at least her performance in said job) This is a job where you need to care about it. I've had a few bad bus drivers in my day. I remember sitting at the back of the bus when the driver decided to "race the train" over the tracks (this was in the country and there were no stop bars, just lights) We didn't get hit but it sure felt close (probably 50 or so yards away in reality) Another time the bus backed into a camaro right after I got off of it at my stop. I was so glad I wasn't still on the bus at the time and could go home right then |
